Uñas Escondidas is an indie-folk music project powered by sing-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Daniela Rivera; a trans woman of Honduran origin, whose formative musical years were spent playing bass and singing in bands from the local emo scene of her hometown Tegucigalpa. Daniela uses the banjo as her main song-writing instrument, taking influences from both Latin American and North American musical traditions such as bolero, cumbia, old-time, and bluegrass; inevitably infused with dissonances and time-signature changes from her emo influences, resulting in a distinct and captivating sound.
