Based in Toronto, Canada; he completed his degree in Visual Arts at the National Institute of Art and a Postgraduate degree in Visual and Critical Studies at (SAIC) School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Hugo has been working as a curator, programmer and art administrator for artist-run-centres, art collectives and cultural associations including: Espacio Ecléctico; Southern Currents Film and Video Collective, aluCine Toronto Latin Media Arts Festival, “Digital Event” by e-fagia-Visual & Media Art Organization, ArtsXplosion Cultural Society; Latin American Dossier of Arts and Toronto Animated Image Society. He has published art articles in Latidos and Bold Magazine. He was honoured by the Toronto Hispanic Vision Awards 2012, Since 2003 he has worked at TOLive -Civic Theatres Toronto as Duty Manager.
