Born and raised in Toronto, Canada to immigrant parents from Mexico and Spain, Ermi grew up surrounded by the rich array of Spanish, Mexican & Latin American music. The influences of these musical genres cultivated a love and appreciation for the wide diversity of music within her own Spanish/Latin culture. Ermi inherited a love of singing from her mother which later branched out into songwriting.
The single, De Aquí a Dónde was brought together by a cast of talented musicians who hail from different regions of Latin America and one from the Philippines. They are all based in Toronto, Canada, Making this song a uniquely Latino-Canadian product.
