Cabildo Colombian Folk Dance

Falciony Patiño, a Colombian professional dancer, created the dance group Cabildo in 2012. This group explores contemporary dances techniques, to enriched Colombian folklore, in traditional Colombian dances. Patiño decided to create this group because when he arrived to Canada, he noticed how the Latin communities, especially its youth, were loosing their cultural identity and the love for their heritage and traditions. 

Cabildo seeks to spread the Colombian culture into new generations and create new audiences for this type of cultural expression.
