Throughout her professional journey, Alex has enriched her experience through various training programs in areas such as directing actors, therapeutic theater, theater management and production, and acting techniques, among others.
In 2019, Alex was awarded the Cultural Heritage Award by the Mississauga Heritage Organization, in recognition of her commitment to celebrating the diverse cultural heritage of the city of Mississauga.
Currently, Alex is the Artistic Director of The Mississauga Players Theatre and the creator of the Triple Threat Theatre Festival. She is also the visionary behind innovative programs such as Swap (Say it – Write it – Act it & Perform it) and In the Lights of the Playwrights, which foster creativity and artistic development in children, youth, and adults.
Her exposure to television production and her constant pursuit of creating inclusive and diverse spaces led her to establish an artistic center for children, youth, and adults, which today forms the foundation for the success of the charitable organization Mississauga Players Theatre.
As a director, Alex sees herself as a guide who strives to help people find joy and passion in theater. Her approach focuses on making the impossible possible on stage, always seeking theatrical magic and pushing the boundaries of creativity. Additionally, as a producer and acting coach, she is dedicated to helping actors explore and embrace their talent, creating a living connection between them and their characters.
Alex takes great pride in her Hispanic heritage, which has deeply influenced her ability as a versatile artist and creator. Throughout her career, she has worked tirelessly to promote her culture through theatre production in both Spanish and English, contributing to the cultural enrichment of her community.
